The letter details concerns regarding excessive and inefficient regulatory burdens on federally funded research, highlighting their detrimental effects on productivity and institutional resources, and presents eleven specific policy suggestions, including streamlining federal regulations, ensuring stakeholder engagement in rulemaking, harmonizing conflicting regulations, reducing unfunded mandates, improving cross-agency coordination, and addressing barriers to research in areas such as human subjects, conflict of interest, cannabis, and data sharing.
