10/2/25 Update:
On September 29, 2025, NIH issued Notice NOT-OD-25-161, rescinding its previously announced Research Security policies (NOT-OD-25-154). NIH explained that it is delaying implementation to coordinate with other federal agencies and to establish a centralized process for recipients to certify compliance.
As a result, the implementation date for the Research Security Training requirements outlined in NOT-OD-25-154 has been rescinded. NIH has indicated that updated guidance, including revised timelines, will be issued in the coming months. Importantly, NIH has not rescinded the Other Support Training requirements detailed in (NOT-OD-25-133), and institutions should continue preparations for those requirements.
