Matt Owens
President
M. Matthew Owens (Matt) is the President of COGR. Prior to joining COGR in March 2023, he worked at the Association of American Universities (AAU) for over 20 years serving two different times in several roles, including: Interim President, Executive Vice President & Vice President of Federal Relations, and Vice President for Federal Relations & Administration. Prior to his second stint at AAU, he was the Associate Director for Government & Community Relations for Stanford University. Mr. Owens earned a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California at Davis, and an Associate of Arts from Santa Rosa Junior College.
