On January 30, 2024, COGR committee members met with representatives from the HHS OIG to discuss the recent HHS OIG NIH Recipient Institutions’ Reporting of Monetary Donations that Support Research Survey (OEI-03-22-00570). The survey was sent to all U.S.-based institutions that received NIH funding in 2022. COGR provided questions in advance.

In addition, COGR has submitted a letter requesting an extension of the deadline to respond to the survey, which is currently set for Feb. 8, 2024. This letter also requests that the survey include an “other” response for each question, along with an associated free-text box for additional information and explanation.
